Linux doesn't come with any user space utilities. Linux == Linus' kernel.
Linux != {RedHat, Debian, SuSE, ...} Linux. There are zillions[0] of different
finger servers out there.

If you're really brave and run Debian, just chuck security.debian.org into
/etc/apt/sources.list and run "apt-get update; apt-get upgrade" as a cron
job <g>[1]
