There are some patches in 2.2.x after the 2.2.5 release that try and time
out the keyboard if it refuses to go non busy. (They shouldnt be needed but
some PC's think otherwise). See if 2.2.11 (+errata probably best -
http://www.linux.org.uk for those) fixes the keyboard hang
