I am curently running a Linux box with slackware 4.0 and kernel 2.2.10
and would like to increase the number of files a proccess is able to
open.
I read the proc.txt file under /usr/src/linux/Documentation.
I understand that the only thing to do is modify NR_OPEN variable in
limits.h and fs.h and recompile the kernel

When I try that (I increase NR_OPEN to 4096), the new Kernel is unable
to boot.
Any idea ?
