system crash and compile errors for high system load

###############
## [2.] ##
###############

Compiling any kind of programs kernel 2.2.10 produces sometimes inexplicable
errors. The first one I got the problem by compiling the KDE 1.1.1.
It was the first compilation with the new kernel 2.2.10.
Well, I started two or three "make"-processes for different packages (the
package order for compiling was without mistakes). The idle-time was 0.0%
and my system had to swap out. Some times later I got error messages like
"Bad pointer", "Bad library" and so on. There was no mistake in the library
installation. A new source installation or "make clean" produced _sometimes_
the same problem. Well, a seriell compilation reduced the mistake frequency.
The same kind of problem I got on 486DX33 system with 16MB RAM by compiling
only ONE package every time.

Some hours of compilation later I got a system crash. At first I packed up
different sources with "tar -czvf <file> <directory>" at the same time.
In the next time I saw the below kernel messages on screen two times.
Then the system switched to Oct 1 2000. Some minutes later the system crashed.

That's why I downgrade to kernel 2.2.9. In the second try I got my new
kernel. In the first one I had the problem I explained.
Kernel 2.2.9 works without problems.

Options used: -V (default)
-o /lib/modules/2.2.10/ (default)
-k /proc/ksyms (default)
-l /proc/modules (default)
-m /usr/src/linux/System.map (default)
-c 1 (default)

You did not tell me where to find symbol information. I will assume
that the log matches the kernel and modules that are running right now
and I'll use the default options above for symbol resolution.
If the current kernel and/or modules do not match the log, you can get
more accurate output by telling me the kernel version and where to find
map, modules, ksyms etc. ksymoops -h explains the options.
