How to begin linux kernel programming?

Hi,all,
I am a newbie in kernel programming.
There are so many headfiles (*.h) in /usr/include and so many src files (*.c)in /usr/src/linux ,So I am often confused with FUNCTION CALL and STRUCTURE data type calling, and often out of my thinking if I further on from one function1 (level 1) to another called function2 (level 2),then to another level called function3 (level 3), etc.
So any suggetions about how to begin kernel programming will be highly appreciated.
Can someone point out some useful URL address ?
