today I noticed some funny problems on my server (Dual P133 on a
GigaByte 586DX, 128 MB, Adaptec 2940 onboard). I could not start
_xterm_ anymore. It aborted with _illegal instruction_. Since I
had some problems accessing (from another machine) knfsd I wanted
to reboot the machine. During the shutdown I saw several oops
passing bye and then the machine instantly booted. So no oops in
the log :( But I found some message inside the log:

Well, I thought the access beyond end of device was only happening
