Sound Kernel problems

i have been trying to put 0666 permissions on /dev/dsp and /dev/mixer and
friends, but they seem to stick to crw-------. Is there a way to get the
kernel to quit doing that? It needs to be 0666 because the kernel is very
reluctant to switch user perms on the devices =/.
