This has nothing to do with Windows.
This is a pure hardware incompatablity issue, I think it all so has a
PIIX twist.

We rock the hardware and throttle the performace much more in 2.2/2.3 than
in the past.
Before you crack the case.......pick up a patch first.....

Enable the PIIX option. This will reprogram the hardware at init based on
the Intel's specs. I said that you are a candidate for this override.
