massive ext2 errors 2.2.9 ?

it might just be my installation but has anyone else reported ext2 probems with 2.2.9 ?

during 2.2.9. news.daily run, several errors came up; e2fscking the filesystem that was
affected made a lost&found full of useless files _and_ the rest empty. only happened
on the root FS.
