linux-2.3.2 on ix86 won't boot: Further data

linux-2.3.1 and 2.3.2 compiled with egcs 19990502 snapshot don't boot: They
try to load IDE disk as a module. Compiled with egcs-1.1.2 2.3.2 boots fine
(it's what I am running right now).

Will take a closer look later, at least identify the offending file.
