I was hoping we would ignore it, and it would go away.

A couple of points ->

1. MS is trying to get our attention. While not particularly
important, don't you find it just a little amusing?

2. Is not liking MS the reason you use Linux? Everyone
has different reasons, for me I use a lot of homemade
hardware (dsp cards), so I like knowing what my system
is doing. My point is Linux didn't get where it is by following
the needs of people who don't use it, it got where it is by
solving problems for people who do use it.
