A pretty complete set of disk IO profiling code is on
ftp://ftp.uk.linux.org/pub/linux/sct/fs/profiling/
if you want to look at it. There's a mailing list at
linux-perf@www-klinik.uni-mainz.de if you want to help extend this
stuff.
