All,
I as trying to sudo cp a 2.5M tar file from a linux ext2 partition to a ntfs drive that
was mounted and received the subject.

I don't use modules and no networking was involved.

Output from ksymoops (note I don't have modules and the System map used is correct
========================================

./ksymoops < /tmp/the_oops.txt
Options used: -V (default)
-o /lib/modules/2.2.5-ac4/ (default)
-k /proc/ksyms (default)
-l /proc/modules (default)
-m /usr/src/linux/System.map (default)
-c 1 (default)
-a - same as ksymoops (default)

You did not tell me where to find symbol information. I will assume
that the log matches the kernel and modules that are running right now
and I'll use the default options above for symbol resolution.
If the current kernel and/or modules do not match the log, you can get
more accurate output by telling me the kernel version and where to find
map, modules, ksyms etc. ksymoops -h explains the options.

No modules in ksyms, skipping objects
Warning, no symbols in lsmod, is /proc/modules a valid lsmod file?

PS. If there is any other information needed let me know and I'll send it.
PPS. I subsequently did an ls on /dosd and it hung. kill -9 could not even
get rid of it and I could not reboot cleanly (umount wouldn't un-mount the drive
manually).
