Multiple scsi adapters, naming disks on scsi

I just bought a sytem with an ASUS with on-board scsi.

The boot disk is /dev/sda (ID #6) (with redhat 5.2 [2.0.36]).

For now, I'm using an NCR810 board to get at my narrow external
devices.

I have no problem doing an insmod and then doing what I want with
the devices.

But how do I automate this process? So I can mount the partitions
on the NCR810 at boot time in /etc/fstab?

Also, how do I specify which scsi ids become which disks?
My boot disk is now ID #6 on the first scsi bus (its /dev/sda),
I understand if I add a disk at ID #4, it will become /dev/sda.
How do I modify this behavior (id #6 should stay /dev/sda).
