Since I upgraded to Glibc 2.1, I have been unable to build a kernel that
will load. I made my latest attempt with the just-released version 2.2.3.
I have read the Documentation/Changes information and I have all the
requisite program versions:
Please have a look at my program version list and let me know if there is
something I am missing.
To be more specific about the hang, when I boot the 2.2.3 kernel,
the kernel gets decompressed and then I get the "booting the kernel"
message (I'm paraphrasing). Then I get a ton of disk activity that
lasts about 20 seconds. Then nothing. I have to cold boot the machine.
Luckily, I still have a working 2.2.1 kernel.
