Kernel bug? CDROM?

CDROM (ioctl) reports ILLEGAL REQUEST.
Hosed while obtaining audio mode page

What is this? It was printed on my console after starting the KDE
CD player, prior to KDE locking hard. I CTRL-ALT-BS'd out of X,
and the screen was totally blank.
