scsi eata

Hi !

I have a DPT 2044 SCSI card. Until recently I used the
eata_dma driver, without any problem. In recent kernels, I found a
warning, that this driver is obsolate, so I begin to use the other
available driver eata.

Generally it works fine, but it hangs my system if
1./ I use cdrecord
2./
$ scsiinfo -a /dev/sdb (that's the scsi ZIP)

It does not give much info. It seems to me to me, the pids it gives
are too large to make any sense. I am not a SCSI expert anyway.

So I returned to the eata_dma driver and everithig works fine.
I can write CD-s and print the features of my ZIP drive.

Some weeks ago I reported this error, but incorrectly thought
this bug was in the kernel code. I was wrong. With the eata_dma driver
both 2.0.xx and 2.2.x works without a problem.

The only problem with this driver is in Configure.help
"EATA-DMA [Obsolete] (DPT, NEC, AT&T, SNI, AST, Olivetti, Alphatronix)
support
CONFIG_SCSI_EATA_DMA"

If you have some useful info, please mail me.
I am not on the list.
