Did the original M$ comment backfire when they made it? I don't think
we should be scared that easily by possible negative reation. It's not
at all clear that there will be any significant backlash.

But the basic statement is true.
In any case, how many press releases have you seen which are
absolutely truthful and don't bend the truth? This is not a computer
programme or a legal document: strict accuracy is not essential.

Not a bad alternative. Doesn't quite retain the original flavour, but
