My scripts for building RH5.2 install disks do the following, assuming
the modules are in a directory named pcmcia:

(cd pcmcia; find . -type f -o -type l |sed -e s,./,, | cpio -o -H crc --dot)
| gzip --best --verbose > pcmcia.cgz
