They would at worst have to get a 2-day old version, and apply one
or maybe two patches. Not too bad, and they would learn to use
patch too, very useful. Development kernels aren't meant for
linux newbies anyway. A kernel-hacker newbie can safely be forced
to learn the use of patch.
