ISSUE: lp locks system when polling printer in 2.2.0pre5

Upon a soft-reboot (i.e. ctrl-alt-del or "reboot"), when lp tries to poll
the printer, the computer freezes. After that, only a turning the power
off and on will reset the computer. However, if I use halt or at any
point do a hard reset, the polling will go fine and the computer will
continue to boot. The printer also seems to work fine (with lpr, lpc,
etc). Both lp and parport support are built into the kernel. The
computer also locks whether the printer is turned on or not.

dmesg output on normal boot:
th F0 0F bug - workaround enabled.
