It seems now (with 2.2.0-pre5) that if I turn off direct PCI access,
the problem goes away (this may be in contrast to what I told Alan
Cox..) However, the kernel now crashes during SCSI initialization. I
get an "kernel NULL-pointer dereference oops" right after the message
"scsi: 1 hosts".
