I had the similar problem, when I followed ALL the directions in PPP.
seems that the ppp headers it installs, are not quite compatible with
lattest kernels. What I did, is just unpacked everything and followed all
the instructions _EXCEPT_ installing ppp own header files. Try this. Might
work
