mca-pentium boot parameter gone?!?

I can't find reference to the mca-pentium boot parameter in either
2.0.36 or 2.1.131... and specifying append="mca-pentium" in lilo.conf
doesn't seem to do anything ;-{

This PS/2-9595 needs the flag to get by the Checking 'hlt' instruction
