Apparently the aha152x controller has the nice feature that it
can halt your machine. Currently there are two know ways to
produce this:
* send random data to a tapedevice (dd if=3Djunkfile of=3D/dev/st0 bs=3D32k=
),
as reported by patrick.jordan-smith@teltrend.co.nz
* Using cdrdao to simulate writing a CD.

For the second method I can provide a strace log of cdrdao at work,
right up to the moment the system halts.

The halt is very hard, no key works, machine doesn't ping, etc. And it
happens with both 2.0.36 and 2.1.130.

If anyone needs more information on this I'ld be happy to give it,
since I'm somewhat at a loss here.

Wichert.
