Unkillable GPM stuck running, not D.

Well, sometime in my switching between X and the console, gpm got itself
stuck running. Normally it wouldn't be a problem but I can't kill gpm.
Not even kill -9 will get rid of it. An strace hung before it showed
anything at all. GPM is just connected to a standard serial port on a
Logitech mouse. The mouse still works fine in X but I'm mailing this
mostly because it's an unkillable process and it shouldn't be. :)
