2.1.125->2.1.131=Extremely slow startup for programs

Hello all

Could you help me out here? I've just
patched my 2.1.125 to 2.1.131, and
that gave some slowdown on
some of the programs that I use.
The programs went to a crawl when it comes
to startup time. I can mention:

Gnome-panel, netscape and emacs.

I decided to see just how much
time it took under 2.1.131

Start Emacs: Fri Dec 4 13:37:05 CET 1998
X shows the window: Fri Dec 4 13:39:15 CET 1998

2 minutes and 10 sek. What wen't wrong? The
processor (P100) was idle most of the time.
I have a lot of RAM, so it can't be that (96M).

Under 2.0.35 the same figures are

Start Emacs: Fri Dec 4 13:57:45 CET 1998
X shows the window: Fri Dec 4 13:57:52 CET 1998

Only 7 seconds!! What's the matter with 2.1.131,
do I miss something?

Another peculiar thing are, that under 2.0.35 my
kswapd has pri/nice levels of (-12/-12) whereas
under 2.1.131 it has (7/7) is that normal?

Yours Thomas
