Try IO statistics for generic scsi and scsi/other tape devices - Stephen's
sard patch so far only covers block devices and I'm sure a lot of people
would like to measure their backup or cd writing speeds.

A lot of the information that sard uses is not available there, but
you could start with a simple byte counter and get some other things too.
