Correct. With NTP there's no problem, because NTP corrects for the drift
(but never manages to synchronize, because the drift is extremely variable);
without it, the messages from the AFS settime code tell the story in graphic
detail. :-(
I didn't get a chance to reconfigure dee to preload modules today; this is a
lousy week for such experimentation because most of the department is taking
NT Admin classes :-| ("do you want to sign up?" "But it's easy to admin NT,
just remember the 3 R's: retry, reboot,[1] reinstall" :-) But with the
semester ending, things should get easier next week.
