I have original Matrox Millenium 4Mb (not Mil II),
testing has been done at 1152x900x16 @ 80Hz

Ok it works and I can have nice high resolution text
console, and no more annoying monitor resynch during
console <---> X11 switching, but:

o XF68_FBdev vs XF86_SVGA, xkb doesn't work for XF68,
this is a known XFree problem.
o Netscape 4.5 buttons & frames lost their 3D look in X68FB.
o Text & windows scrolling is noticeably slower in XF68FB.
o Matrox FB driver built as module, but it can't be
removed, once inserted.
o XMame X11 & XGL have equal performance (45fps, ffight,
PPro 200) on both servers.

Overall it is a very good attempt to have universal FB in
x86 kernel especially for video handling accross different
platforms. Now you guys only need to borrow some or all
of the acceleration codes from XFree86 servers :),
