disconnected printer gives: lp0 out of paper

Well printing wasn't working so I tried "dmesg":

lp0: using parport0 (interrupt-driven).
lp0 out of paper
lp0 out of paper
lp0 out of paper

Evenutally I noticed that I hadn't plugged the printer into the zip drive -
Duh! I then got a:

lp0 off-line

It would be nice if this message was printed the first time!

kernel is 2.1.128ac3
