I've got around to do more testing. The problem seems to be with the
i82365 module in pcmcia-cs.Nov-10-1998. Here is what I found:
- if i82365 is not loaded, APM works fine.
- if i82365 is loaded, the laptop goes into suspend mode
fine but never comes back.
- if I unload pcmcia support, go into suspend, come back
and then load pcmcia_core and then i82365, the machine
freezes.
- in order to keep the previous point from happening, I
have to do a complete power off of the machine before
loading i82365: just rebooting doesn't work.
It looks like i82365.o has trouble handling a PCMCIA controler that
has gone into suspend.
