Cirrus Framebuffer?

I see stuff like virgefb.c, s3triofb.c, clgenfb.c, etc. in
drivers/video.

I'm assuming these are framebuffer drivers for S3 Virge, S3 Trio,
and Cirrus Logic cards. Looking at the insides of the files
makes it also appear to be what I am assuming.

If my assumptions are correct, what exactly do these files do?

In other words, I don't see them anywhere in menuconfig as
options, so how do I use them? I have a Cirrus Logic 5446 PCI
card with 2M. It is not Vesa 2.0 compliant so vesafb is not an
option for me AFAIK. Can I use the clgenfb somehow? If so, how?

Or are these all works in progress that dont yet have menuconfig
entries?
