Microcode is dark magic in some sense. And there is no reason to expect it
to make huge differences in performance. Actually after once debugging
Linux/MIPS running on a unborn CPU simulated at 10 instructions per second
on a dual Ultrasparc I'm healed from trying to mess with CPU internals.
