Oops. Meant 2.8.1, what I'm using now to compile everything but a
Linux 2.0 kernel and INN (no idea why, but I had a version of INN that
reliably crashed with 2.8, was fine with 2.7).

There is an egcs lurking in a corner of my disk but I don't let it
touch kernel code...
