I've compiled the magic sysrq key to the kernel. If I do the following on
the Linux console:
Press Alt, Press SysRq, Press S, Release S, Release SysRq, Release Alt
then everything is ok. But after the following sequence:
Press Alt, Press SysRq, Press S, Release S, Release Alt, Release SysRq
then the Alt key seems to stuck in. Either a console switching, or
pressing Ctrl-BackSpace can be used to logically release the Alt key.
I suggest to divide this kernel configuration option into two parts: those
keys that can be safely pressed by a simple user (sync, unraw...) and
those that normally require root previleges (kill, reboot...). This would
make it possible to use the sync option on a server that is phisically
accessible by some people.
