2.1.127 hangs on boot

It hangs right after "Ok, now booting the kernel"
On at least one attempt the floppy light was on and never went off.
Up until this recompile I had been using 2.1.125.
Same compiler and options -
gcc version pgcc-2.91.57 19980901 (egcs-1.1 release) at O3

Don't have time to debug it right now, so thought I'd just give
the info out in case anyone knows what might have gone wrong?
