well, a boot disk on that machines shows no /proc/pci. And I opened
the box and there are only EISA slots. Also, for me the 710 has
no built-in PCI capacity. I also saw no PCI bridge.

Doesn't work. Also, I tried a foreign operating system from hell
(was pre-installed ... will go ASAP), and I saw that's at
address 0x8000, IRQ 11, no memory.
I changed a few things in the 53c7xx.c driver from Linux 2.1.127, but
I can only get a kernel fault. That fault might be hardware
related (the machine is doubtful).
I will try again next week.
