The problem with your theory is that I am American. I am not. I
am Canadian, and my statements had nothing to do with egotism.
As a matter of fact, I can receive Russian text in email
perfectly. Strange as it may seem, I also use the Linux Cyrillic
8x8 font. It seemed to be the most pleasant to the eye for me.

At any rate, the RFC's define email, and there are provisions for
proper ways of sending 8 bit email. These extensions to standard
7 bit ASCII are PERFECTLY acceptible to me. I'd rather receive
russian text in email than HTML. I don't read russian either...

Correct. My statements of ASCII could have been clearer. I
generalized too much. MIME 8 bit is certainly a widely accepted
standard, and I accept it as well. Russian and other languages
may easily work in email thus. HTML is not necessary.

So, I think I wasn't clear in the first place, and I'm sure we
agree more than you thought.

Take care,

P.S. Feel free to respond in Russian. I can see it perfectly,
but can't read it. ;o) Babelfish?
