2.1.127 Ooops on boot :-(

This is depressing. For the first time in a long time, I'm unable to boot
a non-pre-* kernel. Gets as far as mounting the root volume, whereupon
the 'mount' process blows up with kernel paging fault and locks solid.

I note that this kernel has the aic7xxx-5.1.3 driver. Wonder if that
could be the problem??

Nothing in the logs.
