Here are my results... P75 64MB, DPT SmartRAID controller and dual Seagate
4G Barracudas in RAID1:
5000+0 records in
5000+0 records out
0.01user 0.28system 1:39.40elapsed 0%CPU (0avgtext+0avgdata 0maxresident)k
0inputs+0outputs (69major+15minor)pagefaults 0swaps
now before people start saying that's because of the cache (4M cache on
the DPT card), here's my results with /dev/hda1 (normal everyday IDE, no
UDMA or tricks like that):
5000+0 records in
5000+0 records out
0.04user 3.62system 0:50.13elapsed 7%CPU (0avgtext+0avgdata 0maxresident)k
0inputs+0outputs (69major+15minor)pagefaults 0swaps
Why are my times so much longer but the CPU so much smaller? the SCSI
system is on a nice PCI bus with nothing else bothering it...
