Looks like somewhere between 2.1.127pre3 and 2.1.127pre7 that
the QIC tape driver (tpqic) module build got busted. Here is the gcc
error output:
gcc -D__KERNEL__ -I/mnt2/src/linux-2.1.127p7/include -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe -fno-strength-reduce -m486 -malign-loops=2 -malign-jumps=2 -malign-functions=2 -DCPU=586 -DMODULE -c -o tpqic02.o tpqic02.c
tpqic02.c: In function `wait_for_ready':
tpqic02.c:591: structure has no member named `timeout'
make[2]: *** [tpqic02.o] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/mnt2/src/linux-2.1.127p7/drivers/char'
make[1]: *** [_modsubdir_char] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/mnt2/src/linux-2.1.127p7/drivers'
make: *** [_mod_drivers] Error 2
Ok... Ok... I recognize this old tape driver is probably not a
high priority issue with very many people. Shoot... It's not a high
priority to me. I had forgotten that I was building that module. I
just thought someone might like to know before it got into more general
release...
BTW... On a different note... 2.1.127pre7 seems to have fixed the
gcc signal 11 problem in sched.c when compiling single processor. Thanks!
