If you increase NR_OPEN a lot you should use the 3000fd patch or you
risk kernel stack overruns. But with that 3000fds works fine.

vger used to be a very small sparc, its still a fairly small sparc and
it runs all the linux lists. It has the slight advantage its using zmailer
