I don't think that's a good idea... I'd rather make that a warning
message. There are people who don't need to play safe; I've been using
pgcc-compiled 2.1.x kernels for ages without problems.
As long as you use -O2 or lower, pgcc and egcs seem to work well even for
compiling the kernel.
