I have the whitepapers for the 1533/1543 ide ALI chipset, but no real time
ti poke at them.........they appear to have s similar splitfifo like the
VIA boards........

Making the kernel see them is easy, setting dymanic UDMA timing codes for
the pci-config space is difficult, breaking the Simplex pre-commands is
painful. Since I am hunting for a loaner board, and Michel Aubry
(The VIA-IDE-Guy) is waiting on an ALI board........we are just waiting.
