Slow Bogomips with second processor.
-----------------------------------

My computer which is based on QDI PC1440BX/DP BRILLIANT IV motherboard.
The base os is Red Hat 5.1, which is running fine in uniprosessor mode.
But when i compiled it with SMP enabled, it failed to boot. It locked in
starting syslog daemon. (APM was disabled)

I also tried with 2.1.85 with no help.

Next i downloaded 2.1.125 and that version manages to boot but
the second processors shows only about 3..4 Bogomips!
Also the computer feels slowlier when started SMP enabled.

The compiler version is what i got with RedHat 5.1

Here is detailed specs of my computer:
--------------------------------------
Bios version: 1.1LR Aug 26,1998
Ram: 4 x 128MB Hitachi
Scsi controller: On board Adaptec
Hard disks: 4 x SEAGATE ST39173W (4 x 9GB)
Graphics card: Diamond Viper V330 NLX (Riva 128)
Lan: On board Intel 10/100

Tony Kocurko have had similar problem with QDI P6I440LX/DP Legend IV
motherboard see "http://www.nlug.org/smp/#unplaced" but the problem
went away with newer bios.

Tony recommended me to disable the embedded adaptec scsi card, because
there might be problems with the aic7xxx driver.
So i disabled scsi, added a 6Gb Seagate IDE disk, and installed
same os versions to that disk, without any help.

I have also checked that both cpus are using their caches. (bios options and
bios load screens)

QDI told me that there might be problems with linux processor
detecting code.

-Does anybody have same problems as i ?
-Is there anything i could try ?
