what is module ppp-compress-26?

I see this when I bring up ppp:
modprobe: can't locate module ppp-compress-26

I looked through linux/Documentation and the HOWTOs and could not
find the list of module names used by kerneld. I am sure it is
somewhere but I just can't find it. I expect it to be with the
linux sources since it closely depends on the kernel definition
of module ids.

Any help appreciated.
