I've just been testing the ide-tape again tonight, earlier this morning I
turned on bus-mastering in the BIOS and everything seems to work fine
under SMP, apart from the extreme slowness in verifying the tapes, which
I've already commented upon earlier today - up from 6K/s to 8K/s!!
My next step is to turn off bus-mastering and see what happens.
