Seems like everyone has been pretty touchy recently and I myself am guilty
of this (read me flaming Tom Sailor). However, let's just all take a step
back here. In light of all the flaming, Linus says no big patches without
explaination, I agree. It makes my head hurt to read large patches from
unknown sources. A note saying what it is and does sure helps a lot.

Please note that I am not speaking for Linus here. Linus works for
Transmeta and we do have a lot of work to do on our product. Frankly I'm
amazed that he is able to gleen through all the mail that he gets without
the benefit of procmail. So, if you have to send your patch a couple of
times, so be it. I did when I wanted to get something into the kernel.

So, vger people, I interpret Linus's message as "send me a patch but
explain what it does and how it might affect things" of course the burden
in on you guys to make sure that the patch works. maybe posting a url to
the diff so that people can download it and test might help get
acceptance. Then just mail Linus a couple of times if that's what is
necessary to get the patches in.
