HI,

115k2 serial data over ttyS0 and S1

I am finding that when the receiving equipment negates cts to the port
the output of data does not stop for approx 500ms. This is about 5-6k
of data!!
Is this a known problem? What is a contact for the development of pppd
or is the issue a kernel serial port handling problem?

I am running 2.0.34 RH 5.1 & pppd at 115,200. P166 16550A no modem to
confuse any interrupt. No problem with receiving data at this speed,
only handshaking. On board uarts, similar systems with W95 work ok
(same motherboard), over run then is about 30-40 chars or <2ms I have
seen this problem on various hardware inc. toshiba laptop running same
software Rh5.1 etc etc

can someone point me to a resource who knows the mechanics of how the
UARTS are driven and why there is sucha delay.

regards

Mark
